Ecclesiastes 2:24–25 · Colossians 3:23–24
There is nothing better for a man than that he should eat and drink, and make his soul enjoy good in his labor. This also I saw, that it is from the hand of God. For who can eat, or who can have enjoyment, more than I? Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.
Reflection
Because Jesus paid for our sins and gave us a clean record, our daily work is changed. You no longer work to prove you have a right to live. You are already a loved child of God.
This changes earthly things from false gods into simple gifts. If you write computer code, sweep a street, study for a degree, or cook a meal, you can do it with joy. You are not working to buy meaning. You are working from the meaning Jesus already gave you. The work is a gift, and God is the Lord of your hands.

Theology
The Hope
Your job is not your savior; your soul is safe in Jesus, so you can enjoy your work without fear.
Daily life
The Heart
When a project fails, a business deal shakes, or school is hard, we panic because we tied our identity to the job.
Prayer
Living God, thank You for my work, my food, and my daily duties. Help me see them as gifts from Your hand, and teach me to do every task for Your glory. Amen.
