Hebrews 13:13 · Luke 9:23
Let’s therefore go out to him outside of the camp, bearing his reproach. He said to all, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.”
Reflection
Because Jesus is outside the gate, the Bible gives us a command: “Therefore let us go to him outside the camp and bear the reproach he endured”. Jesus did not go outside so we could stay safe and quiet inside the world’s camp. He calls us to join Him.
To go outside means to leave behind the search for human praise and worldly comfort. Reproach means insults, shame, and being made fun of for following Jesus. If the world hated our King, we must not expect the world to praise us.

Theology
The Hope
Leaving the world’s camp to be with Jesus brings you close to His heart and gives you true joy.
Daily life
The Heart
We often stay silent about Jesus because we are afraid of losing friends, jobs, or human respect.
Prayer
Jesus, give me courage to stand for You. Help me leave the camp of human praise and walk with You, even when people mock me. Amen.
