Hebrews 13:11 · Leviticus 16:27
For the bodies of those animals, whose blood is brought into the holy place by the high priest as an offering for sin, are burned outside of the camp. The bull for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the Holy Place, shall be carried outside the camp; and they shall burn their skins, their flesh, and their dung with fire.
Reflection
In the Old Testament, the high priest took animal blood into the Most Holy Place for sin. But the bodies of those animals were not eaten. They were taken outside the camp and burned up with fire.
Inside the camp was the clean place where people lived. Outside the camp was the place of trash, sickness, and judgment. Because the animal carried the guilt of the people, it was cast out into the wilderness. This was a picture pointing forward to Jesus.

Theology
The Hope
God showed in the Old Testament that our sin would be taken far away and burned up.
Daily life
The Heart
We do not like to think about our sin, but our wrong choices make us dirty before a holy God.
Prayer
Holy Father, I know that my sin deserves Your judgment. Thank You for planning a way to take my sin far away. Amen.
