Hebrews 13:10 · 1 Corinthians 10:16
We have an altar from which those who serve the holy tabernacle have no right to eat. The cup of blessing which we bless, isn’t it a sharing of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, isn’t it a sharing of the body of Christ?
Reflection
Long ago, the Jewish people pointed to their big temple, their priests, and their stone altar. They told the Christians: “You have no temple and no altar”. But the Bible says: “We have an altar”. Our altar is the cross of Jesus Christ.
Those who stay with the old rules and reject Jesus have no right to eat from this altar. To eat from this altar means to share in the life and forgiveness that Jesus won when He died. His sacrifice gives real life that an earthly building can never give.

We often look for safety in physical things, church buildings, or human traditions.
