Hebrews 12:2 · Isaiah 45:22
Looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Look to me, and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.
Reflection
How do you keep running when your legs burn? The Bible gives the engine: “looking to Jesus”. In the original language, this means: look away from everything else so you can lock your eyes onto one point.
Stop looking back at your past sins. Stop staring at your own weak feet. Stop checking other runners to compare yourself. Look front. Look at Jesus. What fills your eyes will guide your heart.
Theology
The Hope
Your strength sits outside of you; it sits in Jesus, who already crossed the finish line.
Daily life
The Heart
We look inside ourselves to find more power, but we only find weakness, fear, and empty tanks.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, help me turn my eyes away from the noise, my fears, and my own failures. Lock my eyes on You today so I do not drift. Amen.
