Hebrews 12:1 · Hebrews 11:39–40
Therefore let’s also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with perseverance the race that is set before us. These all, having been commended for their faith, didn’t receive the promise, God having provided some better thing concerning us, so that apart from us they should not be made perfect.
Reflection
The Bible tells us that we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses. Think of a big stadium full of people watching a race. These witnesses are not fans eating snacks and grading your style. They are the saints from the past, like Noah, Abraham, and Moses. They ran their race by faith.
Some of them suffered, and some of them died without seeing the full promise on earth. But God did not fail them. Their lives stand up like a witness in court to tell you: God is faithful. Keep running.

Theology
The Hope
Many people of faith ran this hard road before you, and God kept them safe all the way to the end.
Daily life
The Heart
We often feel alone on the track, thinking that no one knows how hard the road is.
Prayer
Dear God, thank You for the cloud of witnesses who show that You are faithful. When I feel alone and tired, remind me that You hold me just as You held them. Amen.
