Ecclesiastes 5:1 · Psalm 89:7
Guard your steps when you go to God's house; for to draw near to listen is better than to give the sacrifice of fools, for they don't know that they do evil. A very awesome God in the council of the holy ones, to be feared above all those who are around him.
Reflection
The Bible tells us: "Guard your steps when you go to the house of God." Long ago, people did not run into a king's court without care. They stopped at the door. They checked their clothes and watched their feet. The Preacher tells us that worship is not a casual game. When we pray or gather with the church, we are stepping into the court of the King of the universe. We must not rush in with our minds full of daily chores, money worries, or proud thoughts. We must slow down, check our hearts, and remember who God is.

The Hope

Daily life
The Heart
We often rush into prayer with a distracted mind, thinking only about our busy day.

Lord God, teach me to guard my steps today. Slow my feet, quiet my mind, and help me remember that You are the holy King. Amen.
